Brief description of the committee
The Communications Committee communicates the mission and goals of the Federation of Gay Games to the world. The routine work is comprised of the Gay Games web sites, press releases, Gay Games Blogs, photography, videos, interviews, Social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Communication work also includes planning, and review of information presented by host cities.
Membership requirements
The Communications Committee is comprised of the Officer of Communications (chair), Marketing Officer, VP of External Affairs, Co-Presidents, board members, assembly members and volunteers to the Gay Games. One does not need to serve on the assembly or board to serve on this committee.
The Communications Committee represents people from all regions of the world with a variety of skills. The committee uses professional volunteers to write, create and edit for the Gay Games. Excellent writing and editing skills in English is strongly desired, but we also need translators in as many languages as possible. Journalists, photographers, and writers are especially desired. People are needed to contact local journalists and to write articles for Gay Games for our use and to distribute to the press worldwide.
Committee members are expected to give 1-4 hours per week in volunteering for Gay Games. Conference calls are often made with Skype software to allow no_cost phone and video conferencing.
Communications committee also meets at the Annual Meeting for planning and to report to the FGG assembly each year.

We welcome all join our committee. This is one of the best ways for unique people from all over the world to spread the message and mission of the Gay Games. We need translators in every language for promotional material.
The Communications Committee is looking for volunteers with graphic design, web development, database, media, press, photography, or writing experience. If you have a skill and want to be part of the global LGBT sports movement of the Gay Games, we welcome you!
