Culture Committee

Erin Frawley and Robby Davis of FGG Culture Committee with Games Cologne’s Steve Nobles on Gay Games VIII site inspection

From the founding of the Gay Games, each edition has included a rich cultural program. The required events include the performing arts of music, dance, and theatre; visual arts, and the humanities, as expressed in literature, historical, and academic projects. In particular, each Gay Games features a visual arts exhibition, and band and choral festivals.

The Federation of Gay Games Culture Committee was founded in 1993. Its work has focused on identifying the censorship and oppression that block artistic and cultural expression, examining the production of successful arts/cultural events, identifying guidelines to guarantee inclusion, and exploring nontraditional ways to present art and culture.

Join us on the Federation as we work, through art/cultural activities and noncompetitive sports, to support the self-respect of lesbian and gay people around the world and engender respect and understanding from the non-gay world.
