Armin Lohrmann on joining FGG board of directors

At the 2012 Annual General Assembly in Sofia, Armin Lohrmann of Cologne was elected to the Federation of Gay Games board of directors as an officer at large:

I’m very thankful for the trust the Assembly has put in me. My aim is it to bring the experience of a former host to the board. I was involved in “games cologne”, the host of Gay Games VIII, since the first brainstorming session. For the first six years I served as a volunteer, mainly on the Event & Culture Committee. I also organized the DanceSport competition. During the last year before the games I was employed as the general project manager and I was also part of the steering committee.

I have been at the board of SC-Janus for 6 Years now and I’ve been a delegate to the FGG for five years. As a Latin American Dancer I participated in the Games in Amsterdam, where I earned a silver medal in the A-Level, in Sydney, and in Chicago, as well as at the Montreal Outgames.

As a former host I know that hosts suffer above all from the separation between OutGames and GayGames. Therefore it’s my goal to promote the 1QE idea and negotiations as well. Together with fellow board member Sonya Lewis and FVV delegate Jan Fröhlich, I want to build on the work accomplished by the negotiation team so far and will do my best to bring it to a good end.
