Visual arts and other cultural events

“Move It” at Wallraf-Richartz Museum, Cologne, Gay Games VIII

A Visual Arts event is a core cultural component. This usually involves an invitation to artists from around the world to produce 2D and 3D art, which is then exhibited during the week of the Gay Games. At Gay Games VIII, for example, a theme, “Move It” was chosen, with artists tasked with producing works on the theme of movement.

In addition the Gay Games cultural program can include other participatory events such as Color Guard, Poetry Slam, etc.

Ancillary non-participatory cultural events are also a major draw for each edition of the Gay Games: film series, concerts, exhibitions, theater, readings, and more.
