The Federation of Gay Games is delighted to be a partner of Pride House 2012, a safe and welcoming place for LGBT people and friends during the London Olympic Games.
The Federation of Gay Games brings together LGBT sport and culture organizations from around the world to ensure that the Gay Games, the largest international sports and culture festival in the world open to all, take place every four years under the founding principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best™.
Our mission is to promote equality for all, and in particular for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people throughout the world. We believe that the Gay Games and the movement they created and nurture are among the greatest forces for community empowerment and social change.
The FGG has been a supporter of the Diversity and Inclusion efforts of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), with particular efforts to help recruit LGBT volunteers and volunteer trainers. We thank Stephen Frost, LOCOG director for Diversity and Inclusion for the work he’s accomplished and for the friendly and productive relationship we’ve enjoyed.
The Federation of Gay Games is:
- the Gay Games, with over 10,000 participants in more than 30 sport and cultural events every four years
- some 50 member organizations throughout the world
- 30 years of action to promote equality in and by sport and culture
- thousands of men and women empowered by “the Games that Change the World”
- activism and advocacy against homophobia and sexism
The FGG is very pleased to announce the launch at Pride House 2012 of “From Games to Games“, an invitation for Olympians to participate in Gay Games 9 in Cleveland+Akron in August 2014.
