The Gay Games
The primary mission of the Federation is to select the host of the Gay Games, and to support this host in executing the organization of the largest sports and culture festival in the world open to all.
This mission begins more than six years before opening ceremony, with the launch of bidding. That stage ends five years before opening ceremony, and launches a new phase, in which the FGG through its joint steering committee helps our host committee prepare to receive over 10,000 athletes and artists. FGG committees provide guidance and know-how, while FGG member organizations and partners provide crucial support in promoting the event.
Beyond the Games
At the same time, the FGG seeks to be a voice for progress in a number of venues, by hosting and participating in conferences, workshops, and seminars, by engaging our global family in letter-writing campaigns, petitions, and other forms of activism, by working with other organizations that share our goals of human progress through sport and culture.
All this requires support from our members and the general public.
