As a rule, Gay Games sports events follow international rules and regulations, and are sanctioned when possible.
Specific rules for Gay Games sports are found in the Gay Games Red Book for Sport.
Rules and competitive divisions may be modified to increase safety, to offer more competitive opportunities, and to take into account specificities of LGBT sport.
