Welcome to bidding for Gay Games X!

The Federation of Gay Games is the governing body for the Gay Games, the largest sports and culture festival in the world open to all.

The Gay Games were founded in 1982, and 2018 will see the tenth edition of this quadrennial event that brings together some 10,000 athletes, artists and activists from around the world to participate in over 30 sports and culture events.

The purpose of this section of our website is to share information about bidding for Gay Games X, to be held in 2018.

2012-08-20 FGG Annual Meeting information session During the 2012 FGG Annual General Assembly, Prospective Bidding Organizations may attend a special Prospective Bidding Organizations session to ask questions.
2012-08-31 Acknowledgment of receipt and understanding of RFP All Bidding Organizations will be requested to sign a document acknowledging that they have read, understand and agree with the RFP and in particular the timelines, processes and bid selection process.
2012-08-31 Letters of Intent submitted Deadline for Prospective Bidding Organizations to signify their intention to submit a proposal for hosting GGX.

2013-05-31 Short-list vote closes The FGG Site Selection Assembly votes via electronic ballot for the top three candidates among the Bidding Organizations. These top three Bidding Organizations are then considered as Short-Listed Bidding Organizations.

Announcement made public only after FGG and Host have signed Proposed License Agreement and Side Letter, including any and all revisions/agreements reached during the Bidding.
To be determined (90 days after Site Selection Meeting)

Confirmation of GGX Host Any outstanding issues noted in the side letter submitted with the signed License Agreement will be addressed (if not already resolved). Any required license fees will be paid within 90 days of the site selection. In the absence of either of these two elements within the 90-day timeframe, the runner-up will be announced as the host of GGX.
