Gay Games XI
Two cities
For our eleventh edition of the Gay Games we saw two cities host the event: Hong Kong & Guadalajara, Mexico
For our eleventh Gay Games event, we made the decision to split the event between two locations on different sides of the world. One event was held in Hong Kong, with the other being held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Both events were a huge success, where five thousand participants across the two sites enjoyed a week of sports and culture. From the ceremonies, to the sports competition, to the cultural agenda, our participants had plenty to do during their time at the Games.
Five thousand people descended on our two host cities for a 10-day long celebration of LGBTQ+ sports and culture
The overwhelming tone of the comments from the Hong Kong participants was positive and appreciative. Participants and attendees congratulated the organizers on a job well done, expressing enjoyment and meaningful experiences at the Gay Games in Hong Kong.
Many thanked the committee for their hard work, appreciating the inclusive atmosphere, and expressing gratitude for making history and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
There's acknowledgment of the difficulties faced, but the general sentiment is one of praise and thankfulness for a successful event in Hong Kong.
